General Info / FAQ’s:
- Parents Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th from 5:30 – 6:15ish
- Full practice and game schedules will be provided then.
- Things to bring for tryouts: court shoes, athletic shorts, white or gray t-shirt, work ethic & positive attitude.
- Both 7th & 8th Grade will usually practice at the same time, utilizing both gymnasiums as well as combining frequently.
- Games will usually be such that when one grade level is playing at home, the other grade level is on the road.
- As a general rule, practice on school days will be 3:15 – 5:30 (Fridays will never last longer than 5:00)
- Players are expected to attend Wednesday Study Halls when scheduled.
- There are several non-school days where we will have practice, including many Saturdays.
- Saturdays are almost always 8:00 – 9:30 and usually “optional” as a concession to the myriad of other activities middle school students have going on. “Optional” will be defined at the parents' meeting.
- All paperwork must be completed and on file in the office ahead of time (physical, proof of insurance, concussion form and code of conduct)
- Katie Biggers is the 7th grade coach and more than capable of speaking for herself. However, for the time being and until we get everything in full swing, please refer all questions for both grade levels to 8th Grade Coach Jay Deiser at 785-330-1866 or jdeiser@usd497.org
- Pretty much everything one can think of is fluid, but it will work itself out in the end.
